Professor Francis Ayodeji Gbore, the Vice-Chancellor of Sam Maris University, Supare-Akoko, Ondo State, is the immediate past Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Academic) of Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, Nigeria, brought to the job, rich and varied experiences of over two decades of teaching, research and administrative experience within and outside the University system.
He was Dean of Students, AAUA (2017 – 2018); Acting Director of the Industrial Training Unit, AAUA (2011 – 2015); Acting Head of the Department of Animal Science AAUA (2014 – 2017); Acting Head of the Department of Environmental Biology and Fisheries, Faculty of Science, AAUA (2012 – 2014), Chairman or member of many statutory and strategic University Committees; Member, the Visitation Panel constituted by the Ondo State Government in 2022 to examine the performance of the Management of the Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo, Ondo State.
A distinguished scholar, Professor Gbore is well published in many reputable local and international journals, especially those published by Elsevier, Springer, Cambridge University Press, Taylor and Francis, among others.
An alumnus of both the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, and the University of Ibadan, Professor Gbore was a Post-Doctoral Research Fellow at the University Sains Malaysia, and has attended and presented research papers in many national and international conferences. He served as member of organizing committee of some international conferences.
Young, energetic, dynamic, innovative and diligent, Professor Gbore, who is a Registered Animal Scientist (RAS) and a Fellow of the Institute of Corporate Administration of Nigeria (FCAI), will no doubt, bring the 21st Century and award-winning prowess of AAUA to bear on the young Sam Maris University and set the tone for the attainment of the goals for the establishment of the University –to be an ICT-driven University renowned for its impeccable high-quality teaching, empirical learning, cutting-edge and high-impact research that address the developmental challenges of the 21st century; knowledge transfer; sound moral and ethical standards; entrepreneurship and innovation with direct and sustainable impacts on gainful youth employment, and community service.
